In our
"Follow the steps of St. Paul" tours we
retrace St. Paul's footsteps in Greece, using the
Bible and the "Acts of Apostles" as our
guides. The tours will satisfy the simple traveller
as well as the informed reader of the Bible.
Following his steps is not an easy task. St Paul was
a dynamic figure, a man of the road, considering the
distances he travelled and the difficulties and
adventures he faced. Starting from Kavala, we visit
Philippi, Amphipolis, Apollonia, Thessalonica, Berea,
Athens, Corinth and Cenchreae driving nearly 1000
km., sitting in a private car / minibus / luxury
coach and spending our overnights in comfortable
hotels, with our meals organised while we listen
about his adventures when he decided to preach the
Gospel in Europe.
We see the baptismal site of Lydia, the first
European to become a Christian, the crypt that served
as a prison for Paul and Silas, the bema in Berea,
the Mars Hill, the ancient Corinth site where Paul
lived for 18 months etc. From Berea to Athens St Paul
travelled by sea but we shall do it overland and to
make the journey more relaxed we have planned stops
at sites of archaeological and cultural interest such
as Vergina, where they found the tombs of King Philip
the Macedonian(father of Alexander the Great),
Meteora and the monasteries on top of the huge grey
rocks, and Delphi if requested.
The
best season to plan this tour is Spring or autumn.
The best time will be to plan the tour in combination
with "unique" Greek traditions (e.g. May 21
for the "anastenaria" etc.). The size of the team
/ group surely affects the price per person but since
we want to give everybody the chance to follow the
footsteps of the greatest missionary of Christianity,
we organise this tour from 2 persons in a rented car
to a maximum of 35 participants which is the optimum
size to be able to follow the tour guide's lectures.
The minimum is 4 days / 3 nights in a tight program
to 9 days / 8 nights which can be combined with a 3 ,
4 or 7 day cruise to the Aegean islands, visiting the
island of Patmos, Rhodes, Ephessus and even Istanbul
and the Dardanelles.
and see St. Paul's 2nd and 3rd
missionary journeys.
Take this opportunity,
trust
our 32 years of experience and let us plan together
this journey of a lifetime.
The feeling is great when you walk
along the stone path the Apostle Paul walked.
You decide how many days you want to spend on this
tour and contact us.
We shall try our best to make it happen.
